Wealth Partners Financial: a guiding light

Wealth Partners Financial, in Cedarburg, Wis., started 20 years ago with one client. It’s since grown into a four-person RIA that has guided thousands of clients and families toward greater confidence in the financial decisions they make every day.

The challenge: too much time on admin, not enough on clients

Like most financial advisors, Marc Willden, a Financial and Business Guide at Wealth Partners, was spending too much time on paperwork. From meeting notes and follow-up tasks to manual data entry and CRM updates, the administrative layer of advisory work added up fast and pulled him away from what mattered most: his clients.

He saw AI as a real answer, but approached it carefully. “I’ve gotten my fingers burned as an early adopter,” he says.

Marc initially tried Jump, which ultimately fell short of his needs. “If you want an accurate transcript of the meeting that took place, it’s fine,” he says. “But when you want it to do some analysis — ‘now summarize this for me and list the things that are important’ — it was weak.”

For meeting prep, simply having summaries of past meetings was not enough.

The team needed the meeting prep document to draw important financial information from their planning, portfolio management, and CRM systems, for a more complete picture of the client.

“Where it was severely lacking was really no tools for meeting preparation,” says Marc. “We have to integrate with eMoney. That's the most important one. But we also need to integrate with Orion and Redtail.”

The firm realized Jump could transcribe but could not provide any context. “It was looking purely at that one meeting. It couldn’t understand what was going on, although it was doing the best it could. It just didn’t have very much data to work with.”

The solution: switching to a new platform with connectivity at its core

Zocks offers robust integrations with eMoney, Orion, Wealth.com, and Redtail — tools essential to Marc’s practice — as well as other platforms like SS&C BlackDiamond, RightCapital, Holistiplan, Conquest Planning, and PreciseFP

Meeting prep, in particular, tied it all together for Marc. He saw enormous value in Zocks’ ability to bring together personal context from conversations as well as financial data from his firm’s systems, all on one page.

“The more we can tie this stuff together, the more context Zocks has, the better it can do at analyzing things,” he says.

For advisors like Marc, whose business depends on building knowledge and understanding of his clients across years of conversations and rapport, that context is everything. Zocks customers not only report saving 10+ hours per week on administrative work, but find it critically important to be able to connect conversation data with data siloed in various systems and provide one complete, up-to-date view of the client.

The results: A clear trajectory with no going back

Marc’s read on Zocks’ role at Wealth Partners is clear. “If you look at how Zocks has evolved since I first started test-driving it, it’s pretty clear,” he says. “There’s been way more product development.”

He says this with certainty because he revisited Jump to see if there had been any improvements.

"I decided to go back into Jump and see what it could do for meeting prep,” he says. “And it spun its wheels for a very long time and produced very little, almost nothing. And so, you know, you can connect to these other products, but if it's not a robust connection with a lot of access to that underlying data, it's an integration in name only. I see almost no value in the integration that they have with eMoney."

For a firm where time with clients is the most valuable resource, the decision to go with Zocks was straightforward. “If the goal is to simply transcribe the meeting, any note-taker is fine,” Marc says. “If you want more than that, it’s not fine.”
